I was driving an AL-1200 so I could not overdrive the amp and got a good clean signal out. All yaesu radios must be carefully adjusted so they don't splatter. Very easy to do with a Yaesu. The newer rigs have the AMC which chokes them down and keeps them from over modulating.

I ran my FT-950 almost every day like that for 7 years. Never had a problem. sstv, ezpal, rrty, you name it, I ran it.
